Due to the abstract title and representation, the interpretation of this small-sized aquarelle is difficult to decipher. The contours of a whitewashed house are visible in the middle of the picture with a blurred figure in its front, and a trodden road leading to it from the valley. In the right corner, a young girl, with her back turned on us, is looking towards the house, but cannot cross the ravine separating the two persons. It is the true home that might be unreachable: not just the house, but a life shared with one’s beloved.
